TRANSPORT

An option for a less expensive travel by taxi is to call a taxi by phone (city information desk at the arrival hall can do it for you). Cheapest Vilnius taxi telephone numbers: +370 611 11111; +370 5 233 3333; +370 626 66667. The charge of “called by phone” taxi is approximately €1.20-1.50 per km.

In general, when travelling around the city, it is much better to order service by using mobile apps (Bolt, Uber, A2B) or call a taxi company by phone, because catching it on the street might cost you both additional €4-6 for entrance + doubles rates per each kilometre.

Only in extra case you may need to use taxi. Please note that taxi rank service next to the airport applies the following charges: €1.50 for entrance and €1.20-1.35 per km. We recommend booking a taxi by using the mobile app Bolt (https://bolt.eu/cities/vilnius/) – their charges are lower, and you can book a taxi in advance. Uber is also available in Vilnius, thus if you are used to Uber services in your country you are welcome to use them in Vilnius as well.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TICKETS IN VILNIUS

Tickets for buses or trolleybuses can be bought from the Trafi app (€0.65 for 30 min, €0.90 for 60 min, €5.00 for 1 day, etc.) and they are to be activated at the buses or trolleybuses upon entrance AND they are valid until the time of activated ticket runs out. If your travel continues, you should activate a new ticket. If you do not have a smart phone or prefer using a separate card for e-tickets, it is possible to obtain such a card from the Press kiosk at the Airport (an e-tickets card for €1.5 “Vilniečio kortelė”) and top it up with electronic tickets which are valid according to the timing – 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 1 day, 3 days, 10 days, etc. With a valid ticket in the card, properly activated on board of public vehicle, if necessary, it is possible to change the public transport for free and for an unlimited number of journeys within the time of the e-ticket. There is always an option to buy a single ticket from the driver of public vehicle for €1. TRAVELLING FROM THE AIRPORT

It is possible either to take a taxi (but it is expensive and often overcharged and probably you would pay about 30 euros for a trip from the Airport to the MRU Guest house) or it is possible to arrive by public transportation (duration of travel approx. 45 minutes). At the Airport stop ORO UOSTAS (which is in front of the arrival hall), take Bus No. 3G and change it to Bus No. 10 at a bus stop ŽALIASIS TILTAS (it is approximately in the middle of the route). The MRU destination stop is MYKOLO ROMERIO UNIVERSITETAS.

From the Airport it is possible to take Bus No. 88 which takes you directly to a stop VINCO KUDIRKOS AIKŠTĖ (duration of travel approx. 20 minutes) which is approx. a 7-minute walk from the Amberton hotel. Walk a few meters back from the stop to reach Gedimino avenue and walk along towards a clearly visible Cathedral – a large white church with a huge golden Cross on the top. The hotels “Amberton Cathedral Square Vilnius” (L. Stuokos Gucevičiaus str. 1) is in front of the Cathedral square.

ROUTE FROM THE CITY CENTER (e. g., from CATHEDRAL SQUARE, AMBERTON HOTEL) TO MYKOLAS ROMERIS UNIVERSITYT

There is a direct Bus No. 10 to Mykolas Romeris University (duration of travel approx. 30 minutes) from the Amberton Hotel. Take Bus No. 10 (direction Fabijoniškės) from the stop ARKIKATEDRA located on an opposite side of the street from the hotel and go until the bus stop MYKOLO ROMERIO UNIVERSITETAS. The schedule of Bus No. 10 from a stop ARKIKATEDRA: http://stops.lt/vilnius/#bus/10/b-a/0405/map/en
